Our Story

A young mill with a giant reputation.

Busia Sugar Industry Limited was incorporated in Kenya in 2011. Set in Matayos sub-county, where the rich alluvial soils make ideal ground for sugarcane, the factory crushes and processes sugar at a milling capacity of 3,000 TCD.

From the first license to the first crush, ours has been a story of patient construction and steady ambition — to grow Kenya's sugar industry and become one of the largest companies in Africa.

Owned by a board of Kenyan businessmen, the company runs on a ten-year strategic plan built on diversification, turning by-products into revenue, and sharpening a single core business: trusted, quality sugar.

Today the mill is a working estate — manicured grounds, modern plant and a workforce drawn from every region of Kenya — anchored in one promise carried on every pack: The Trusted Sugar.
